For the last few years I’ve been managing high end projects for another contractor with a huge amount of detail to them so I very rarely get to put my bags on anymore.
Now I’m doing a turnkey home for a client and under my own business and it’s so nice to frame walls again with out having to baby sit! Detail the walls and build them.
Our worst part has been the heat! The air temp has been over 100 deg and we hung a thermometer about four foot above the subfloor and it pegged at “150” deg from the raidiant heat.
We have to quit around 1:00pm it just gets to be to much, and since I’m the boss …we can!

Framing to me was like a sport that I loved. It is hot here in Texas too, I do not do it anymore except on my own property.
It was fun to do some occasionally at 42 (checked your profile) but things change by 51.....my suggestion: plan a future in ownership / management.

I love framing! When I can run by myself I can get alot done. It's all about clean moves and being efficient....faster than a couple guys running around like chickens with thier heads cut off.
To bad I can't order 70 deg weather and the Makita Tools Girls to bring me drinks!
That's the nature of working outside in the elements. Sometimes there's a storm, sometimes it's too cold, sometimes it's too hot. You either need an alternative place to work or just call it a day. I blow a cheep box fan on my backside when there is no place to hide from the heat. Sure would be nice if the weather forecasters could get it right once in a while. I sometimes wonder if they have a window in their offices. Makes it hard to plan a couple of days in advance.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
