Howdy,
Lowes is selling a freud plunge router clearance priced at $99.00 and the biscuit joiner for $49.00
These are tools that are on the list to buy when the right deal comes across.
I am just wondering if I’ll end up wishing that I’d spent the extra $150.00 dollars for the brands I trust. (bosch and PC for plunge router, Dewalt for Joiner)
Does anyone here have 1st hand experience with these freud tools. After reading the FWW review of the biscuit joiner, I’m thinking I’ll pass on that one.
But for the router, how can you ever have enough of those?

I paid $180 for that router and really like it (even at the price I paid).
It is as good as my Bosch and PC routers IMO.
I would get it, no question. I'd get the biscuit joiner, for that price, too.
For those prices, I wouldn't pass'm up.
Which plunge router is it? I have the old FT 2000E in a router table and it's been going strong for 10+ years.
Don't remember the model #. But I think it was a 2 1/4 hp unit. I'll be going back tonite to get it. Hope they aren't all gone.
I'd get 'em both. The biscuit joiner has gotta be worth $49, right?

yea but,
it costs me $.45/mile to get there. Plus I normally charge $35/hr for my labor.
It takes me 20 minutes to drive the 3.4 miles to Lowes.
20 minutes to find the product and stand in line to pay.
Thats $39.00 Dollars right there that their gonna hafta pay me just to walk outta their store with that tool.
Better get the dewalt. That way I can use my $10 off coupon for purchases over $100.00
Thanks for your help. I'll need you to 'splain all this to DW
;) <-----My very first emoticon. Hope I got it right
Well, since you put it that way, I figure Lowes owes a few thousand bucks, especially if I also charge for mileage, it's about 40 miles to the nearest one.
If I was any good at 'splainin, I might still have a DW of my own. :-)
Easy wit those 'moticons, they're addictive.

I have the biscuit joiner and it works great, handles very smooth and it's well worth the money. Chip's don't fly in my face when I run it and it seems to be a very sharp blade that hasn't dulled at all after a lot of use for one year. I couldn't be happier with it.
