I have a remodel I’m working on with soffits, no frieze blocks, and no sheeting products (diaphragm) on the roof; 1x6s but not ‘skip sheathing’ like I’ve seen with substantial gaps in between but reasonably tight. This job doesn’t involve reroofing as the roof is relatively new and in good condition, btw. So I’m debating the value in adding f. blocks. The biggest reason I can see is for diaphragm transfer but since it’s not a sheated roof I think this may be of limited value. 

Of course for the next person, if they sheet it for shear or what have you, I’m sure they would prefer to have the blocking place rather than having to add it. 

Thoughts/ opinions?
