From our very old house we are removing the floor boards and we’d like to reuse them in our new build. Those floor boards have signs of previous infestation, mostly what looks like powder post beetle. Not sure if the infestation is current and active or from years ago. Either way, I’d like to fumigate the boards prior to reuse and installation. I’m looking for advise and ways to do this…. or if anyone can share their experience with doing this. If it’s possible to do this fumigating ourselves, we are not adverse to that…. but also if you know of any companies that do it, that would be better. We are located in eastern Massachusetts. Thanks very much.

Can you find a local sawmill that kiln dries their own wood? The kiln temps should cook/kill off any of the beasties that may remain. Avoids chemicals too.
