We have been playing with a different style of guttering than the norm. Custom cast hangers and endcaps that are, well, funky.
The Gutter is standard 6” half round, of which we hang miles of a year. The funk comes to play with facia that is not the normal plumb, but rather square tails, or even acute/obtuse from square from the plane of the roof…
“Think like water, think like water…”
We have hangers that are cast brass about a pound a pc. With a 4” SS lag bolt and 2 @ 2” SS hex head screws in each tail ( we don’t find subfascia too often on this one) so our math and attachments to rafters is a chore.
The end caps are custom caps and really stand out, but the end cuts on the gutter have to be dead on the nuts sq. to seat the seam. The saving grace is our drops for the downspout can be fudged up to an inch, and NO SOLDERING…that saves a LOT of time
The Site iView Images better than most, being as it is run by one of the best in the locale, they are good guys.

Nice, very nice, maybe too nice drawing all the attention.

Maybe 6 mil is the key...lots of other nice elements that cooperate with those funky fine gutters.
More to come if I can get an upload to attach.

That style of gutter is the euro "no-solder" system. Now that I've done my own copper gutters/downspouts I tend to study alot of gutters. You see that style in a lot of movies filmed in europe. Kinda neat looking but I think only on the right type of building (which for most will be different).Gotta love copper though but ouch I just last week bought copper ridge caps for my garage slate hip roof to replace the terne metal (rusty), $900 bux. Damn stuff is going to China too fast driving up our prices.
If you'll UPS me a pair, I'll take 'em to Memphest and maybe SG will model 'em for us.(-:.BTW - Nice work. Real impressive.

Hey Sphere, you ever use any of this guys products?
http://www.bungalowgutterbracket.com/
We're considering them for use on our ongoing bungalow renovation next year.
Yeah, just did a house for a candicate for city at large sumptin.
Good product. No qualmns at all. The decortaive rafter tail hangers are adjustable/w/ washers, I believe the dist/inventer is in LEX. KY.
Pricey...but , that's our customer base. Good support from the vendor..I'd buy them If I was in the market..

Heck, they could be twins.
We had a good day. Til I got home. Still floundering trying to get an attachment to stick to a post.
Anyway, we are up outta the mud hole and coming around the front, to get shed of the lift ASAP.
So far, so good, but the miters on the diff pitch planes are a bitch. You know.
Do you have a 10" nonferrous blade? I might can cut the wedges to make do by trimming them after I bolt them to a 2x4 to hold them in the chopsaw...I don't need a 22.5 or 35, I need a bout a 15...them tail angles are acute.
If not, I'll get a blade,a nd trim the excess 45's that we seem to have ( wedges)......inside miters x 5 at least, nuther box o' elbowes, and I think I thinke we are good.
Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

http://www.classicgutters.com/Nehemiah/00000439.htmlThey've got 15 degree wedges. If you'll tell me how many, I'll order them. I can get them overnighted if necessary.
"Let's go to Memphis in the meantime, baby" - John Hiatt.
http://grantlogan.net/
Sh!t...I see about 20, but but lemme respect the tally, they have a lot of chop up valleys around that front corner where a 14/12 meets the low pitch. And at the place the facia is a hard back wise cut, but in the inside miter joint we need to meld/make flow.
The plans showed a drop in the miter...nuh uh gonna.
Unless they make one?

Also need a double 4" drop funnel to a single , left side of south porch. As per the plans, or we use 3 els and drop from above into below.

>>>>Hey Sphere, you ever use any of this guys products?I'll answer for him - Yes. The guy that designed them lives here or did until recently. When he was trying to start his company, he contacted me to fabricate them for him. It was out of the scope of what I do. They are incredibly expensive (IMHO) for what you get. You have to measure each and every rafter tail before you order because they won't fit if your rafter tail is too wide or narrow. They do look good, though.
"Let's go to Memphis in the meantime, baby" - John Hiatt.
http://grantlogan.net/
You're right, they are pricey. But they are the only one;s of their kind that we've seen so far. My house is narrow enough (24") that the gutters and hangers won't kill me, just mame the hell out of me.
The brackets that Sphere's installing will work on open cornice as will Berger's #10 fascia brackets if you don't mind the bracket being a little wider than the end of the tail. http://www.classicgutters.com/Nehemiah/00000037.htmlhttp://www.bergerbros.com/products_halfround.htmlBoth of these products are available in aluminum if you're not married to the idea and cost of copper, where Dennis' product is only available in copper, IIRC. Not trying to talk you out of the BGB's, just giving you some options.
"Let's go to Memphis in the meantime, baby" - John Hiatt.

Thanks for the options Grant. I'm kinda particular to copper, but that could change as our costs on this renovation go up.

So, you think ProPress makes anything large enough to handle those?

Nice stuff Sphere.
I've always considered gutters/leader work to be "finished plumbing".
Unfortunately, too often it ends up looking like the rough plumber was left for the install.
FREE SPONGE BOB,SANCHO PANTS!
sphere,
I've got that type of gutters on my house.. the really clever part for me was getting the rain from the gutter between the tower and dormer to follow around the dormer and drop onto the the gutter for the east wing of my house..
My gutter brackets are cast bronze angels. Every 16 inches a large breasted angel holds my gutters. As a result my big fat (260#) butt can do chin ups on my gutters. (well, if I could still do a chin up)
Ok, I think I can load these shots from the LT, try, try again.

You and Rub her duck must be in tyvek suits with white gloves when handling all that downspout! I don't even see any fingerprints on it.
Nice looking work!
Walter
For unknown reasons that DS came really greasy. It will show prints soon I am sure, but I do useually wear them Atlas rubber type gloves just to save the hands from all the sharp edges and grease.
I swear we did hundreds of poprivets..Rubher duck likes to say to the endusers that they can evacuate the dwelling in case of fire, by shinnying down the down spouts. That and theft deterrent is our main concern.
We are poprivet fools at times, I have two in my belt( in case I drop one) and I load the extra nipples in the handle like a clip in a gun....drill 3 holes and fire them in...or preload a riveter and hand it to him, he sends the empty riveter back to me, and I reload it and hand it back to him.
We still have to go back and tie into a few undergrounds when the finish columns are up...but gezzzzzzeeeus that was a big azzed job and mud from hell..I am pretty sure that we hung 500' of gutter and 500' of DS.
We knocked it out faster than I thought we would, I lost some time going to the DR for a bum neck, Mikey was out with a hernia operation, and the weather messed us up big time.
I really like it when Grant comes out and just stands there complimenting our work...he is the man.
One morning I told him our plans to drive the boom on the cobble pavers so we could reach that high area outfront..he says, " well, I woulda already done it" so we pulled up with plywood and stuff to protect the surface and the PM or head cheese came out and went nutso on Dale.." GET THAT TRUCK AND TRAILER OFF THAT DRIVEWAY"!!!!!!!!!!
Whoops...no driving a muddy 16K LB boom lift on that I guess..LOL
We scaffolded all that out front..hanging DS is easier from a ladder in my opinion. But the MUD on this site was hellacious. I hate new construction when the cheap assed contractors won't spring for a bale of straw.
