Can someone calrify this for us?
24 gauge Galvalume ( a trade name for aluminum-zinc alloy applied to sheet steel for corrosion resistance )
1) When the Archi is specifying this for scupper and window drip cap flashings. How different is that from 032 Aluminum?
2) Can we use straight Aluminum as flashing in contact with cedar?
3) If not what can use if they are looking for the aluminimum look?
thanks

I hate to use plain AL for any flashing. It works hard, is brittle and it gets more brittle from corrosion exposed to any pollution.
It also reacts with tannins in cedar, especially red cedar.
If it is the light metal appearance they want, the galvalum or a lead coated copper is the ticket
