Hello guys, Insulating my two car attached garage. I would opt for r-13 for the walls and some panels for the doors. My question is about the attic. The reason for insulating it is because once in a while, I would like to work in the garage during the winter. I’m in NC, not too bad cold, but enough for me to be willing to have some heat. Would it be enough to put batts of r-19 in the attic, or I would need r-30? Thank you.

There is usually no requirement to insulate a garage at all so anything is better than nothing. See what the margin is between R19 and R30. This will help
