I have a log house where the client wants to change windows and add concrete log siding to reduce maintenance. She would like to have more sill space at the kitchen and dining room window (for small plants) and my initial idea was to build a bumpout (6”-12”?) and install an awning window. They did some searching and found a garden window for a possible solution. Does anyone have any feedback on them such as installation and performance? One is south facing and the other west. I have my reservations.
Thanks so much.

I have removed a couple of those windows the major complaint for all of them was they leaked and in full sun acted like a furnace.
Frame a bump out and install a "normal" window.
Thanks for the feedback. It's hard to beat advice from the field. Had to hear someone else say it.
It does help to hear experience instead of the “I didn’t think it was going to be …..” from the customer.
