New to this board but spent alot of time reading the archives and haven’t found anything relating to landscape construction or stonework. I run a small (myself and helper) operation (landscaping/stonemasonry) and was wondering how you GC’s handle the landscaping, if at all. Up here in northern ontario (also work in SE MI too) landscaping is an afterthought on new construction and remods. I consider myself more of a craftsman than a businessman. Problem is market here is rather low end and though i’ve done the mid to higher end (5-20k) its few and far between. I’d love to find a GC anywhere in the states that works on higher end jobs and who also has a problem finding the skiled people to fill the need. any comments, contacts or suggestions would be gold. thanks

Not a GC, I worked for one as an estimator. Ever consider commercial work? Most of the projects we bid on required landscaping. Might be worth looking into.
Keep cuttin that grass.
Last dozen or so years I've noticed that landscaping is one of the first things to go on a project when the people want to save money.
Witman, you just told the last ten years of my life story. Good luck.
