What part do you need? Lots of stuff can be second sourced... or ask Junkhound, whatever it is I'm sure he has 6 of them.

Looks like a trashed motor. So it may not even be worth the trouble.http://www.etherhuffer.typepad.com
Yeah, unless it's a very nice vac, hard to imagine it would be worth it. From what I recall, McMaster-Carr (or maybe it is Grainger) has a great cross reference index by maker and application for small motors...PaulB

I am an incorrigible fixer. I hate to see stuff tossed for no reason. But low end shop tools are usually tossable. I priced a new motor for a bathroom fan, and it was only five bucks less than a new unit. Ugh.http://www.etherhuffer.typepad.com
I'm the same way... freaking tragic how much stuff is forced into the trash. I have a mint 12V PC drill, and a 24 v Bosch that I love that just need new batteries.PaulB

Pulled off the housing, and motor must have run hot and melted housing, seizing the motor fan. Switch was trash. Cut out the housing that warped, spliced in a simple on off switch to replace the speed switch. Voila, new shop vac for 4 buck switch. Now what am I gonna do with two shop vacs? Duh'O.http://www.etherhuffer.typepad.com
Are you implying that one can ever have too many of any tool? That's dangerous talk around these parts ;)
I'd keep a close eye on it to make sure there isn't anything else going on that caused the overheating though...PaulB

Did you try rubbing it to wake the Genie up?
Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.
