Aside from the excavation & foundation, I’ve done just about all the work myself.
Here’s a peek at how I spent my spare time this summer (and fall).
May not be pretty to all, but it’s home (or rather it will be in another 2 years)
NOTE: I should point out that I wouldn’t be near this far if it weren’t for the help of people on this board. I’ve posted what I imagine is more than my fair share of questions & have gotten plenty of ideas from reading other’s questions.
Thanks

That's our family farm.
Great lookin project, I'm jealous!
...but is it just me, or are those floor joists mondo? They look like they're at least 2x12's!

They are 2x12's. I wanted extra depth to make the plumbing easier. (and a bit stiffer floor) ;)

Is that stud spacing 24 inches on center?
What parts did you do all alone, solo, and where did you require some help?
Except for the foundation, my father in law helped me for a couple of days with the sheathing on the walls, I had some friends come over to help me with the 2nd floor joists, my dad helped me set the rafters, my brother came in & helped me put in windows & my other brother did the shingles while I wrapped the house.
Most of the help I got was when a friend or family member offered over a weekend or something.
Another friend of mine that works for the phone company has an old cherry picker that he fixed up & let me borrow. That was a big help.
As for solo, I did the first floor joists & put down the subflooring, framed all the walls (my brother helped me stand them up though), ceiling joists & sheathed the roof
There were a few things I had to redo (and some things I have to fix inside bofore continuing) & I took some time off when our son was born (June 10th).
All in all, it was a busy summer.
