With the help of the recent glass tile article, I recently tackled this installation…..
Beautiful home right on Lake Erie in Lakewood, OH, just west of Cleveland.
The trim pieces above the small 3″ x 3″ tiles are actually stainless steel pieces made at a studio out in CA.

Nice work ! how hard was it to actually have to work and not slip out to the deck and just enjoy the view ? How did you attach the stainless to the wall ?
Thanks.
The stainless pieces stand proud of the tile pieces purposely since they have a curvy decorative edge. They attached easily with just a bit of thinset behind them.

Good looking work steve, lucky folks to have that location.

Thanks Calvin. The designer picked the blue tiles since the house is on the water. Although, we all know Lake Erie isn't the bluest water in the world. :)

We camped up at Kelly's Is. last wk. I was pleased to see the bottom. When I was young you couldn't see your feet in the water. Heard up there that was one benefit of the invasive zebra mussel, cleaning the water.Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

Beautiful.......I want that kitchen!
Nice!
How did the cuts go?
I've done glass mosaic, but not larger tile like your job. I did steal some samples away from another job to try out on my wet saw and was not thrilled with the chippy cuts.
I did learn that there are 'special' blade just for glass.
Please offer your comments.

My blade in my wet saw did just fine. I cut slowly. I had a couple of tiles crack early on. I put a shop rag under the tiles as I cut them and that helped eliminate the breakage. The cuts were cleaner than I had anticipated. I hit the edges of the exposed cuts briefly with some 220 grit in my random orbit sander to smooth the edge. (I was afraid someone might cut themselves if they were wiping down the tiles.)

Just regular sanded grout. The tiles were still wet from the last wipedown when I took those pictures so I think the shiny edges of the tiles might have made it look as you describe.
