Am I correct in noting that ceramic glass tiles(translucent or clear) seem to be made of solid gold or treasury notes? Are things really so spendy? I am in pain……….

I think they may be made of gold with diamond mixed in. Also bear in mind that white mortar must be used and that each tile must be back buttered to ensure that there won't be any voids that would be visible through the tile. This will add even more to the installation cost. I have been astonished lately by the price of tile in general. I was out just last week, spied a tile I liked only to find out that they were $45/square foot. It's not like this was a sculptured tile or anything like that. Saw some fancier stuff from $65-$90/sf. I wonder who buys this....
