I have recently stripped, sanded, and reglazed some 6 over 6 double-hung windows. It’s been over three weeks, and the glazing putty (DAP 33) is just as soft as the day I put it on. I’m ready to paint the window, but shouldn’t the glazing be pretty firm by now?

here in central NC I have seen a lot of painters mix a little whiting into the glazing to accelerate set up time. painter's whiting is available from Ben Moore
*I finally had to just go buy a new Purdy brush with bristles so soft I could coat the glazing compound without roughing it up to much. It is something about winter, even inside the shop. Never had this problem in summer.
