Have you seen the new line of tools at Lowes? I haven’t either but I have heard about them 🙂 I think they’re called GMC and they are plainly made in china. Real entry level stuff, but they seem to think that adding a laser line makes them special. I think I saw a jigsaw, circ saw, plain miter saw, sliding miter, and possibly a bench top table saw.
Do it right, or do it twice.

I was at the Lowes in Carson City NV last weekend. I saw the line of GMC tools. There was a sliding compound miter saw for $129.00. It looked similar to the old Rockwell with large relief scale and small table. I think it was an 8" blade with a similar capacity of the original 8" Hitachi. Superficially it appeared to be a nice little saw. I would have to use it to really give a review though. I wonder how much the Chinese workers make to be able to sell a saw for $129.00? How much quality can there be in a $129.00 saw? Maybe good enough for guvmint work.
I hate to admit it, but I was actually tempted by that little slider...because it would travel well, no loss if it didn't come back, etc. I read the data plate and it will cut a 2x6 but I think the max cut was 7-1/4"Do it right, or do it twice.
