Thanks, Razz. Original link worked okay for me, but I just tried it again, & got an error message.

Same here, It worked the first time til I tried to access the shipping page and it went zilch.

Now inadvertently we have devised some kind of counter mechanism into the order form.

Apparently everytime someone accesses the page there is an automatic saw order added to the total.

I noticed it right after I'd posted and clicked on 4 of them while watching the $total increase. It just said 15 at this posting.

What we need now is a way to send the purchase order in for Mike the moderator after the total gets up to around a hundred. Roar!

But now it has me thinking.

Does anyone have one of these Makita saws and be able to give any insight to the quality of it?

          1. seeyou | Mar 22, 2005 12:39am | #5

I used one for about 10 years and "lent" it to one of my subs a couple of years ago. He still uses it regularly.  That's a great price for a hypoid saw. I use a Dewalt worm now, and like the feel of it better, but I liked the Makita 'til I tried the DeWalt. You're almost as paranoid as the people that're trying to kill me.

            greencu invented dewalt

            sounds like 4 too many...

but I hope yur doing okay on the royalties...

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming

            WOW!!!   What a Ride!

I have had one for a year or so.  It is heavy but I do not believe any hypoid or worms are known to be light.  Paid $149 with the Makita tool belt (anyone want one?).  I think it cuts super straight.  Takes some getting used to.  My problem is I do not use any of mine enough to get super familiar like most of you guys.

I have one, nice saw. I thought they had a put a soft start into them. It gives a good torque jump when I hit the trigger.

            Nice saw, heavy though.

            43. Won't 'mark the mad mod' be surprised. :o)

          2. gregb | Mar 23, 2005 12:53am | #11

Looked at it last night, & it was up around 50. Just looked at it again & it's at 2. Ya suppose someone at coastal zeroes it out every so often, or does it somehow make it into someone elses order? ;)

          3. rez | Mar 23, 2005 04:42am | #14

I think we got Mark scared and he's clicking the 'modify cart' tab taking it back to 0 all the time.

          4. dinothecarpenter | Mar 23, 2005 01:28am | #12

I think I got the last one. You can have it after I get done with it.

          5. rez | Mar 23, 2005 04:45am | #15

I'll have to pass. I already have a Bosch worm and a PC reg so I'm loaded up enough for my little pea shooter.

Unless you think it might be an ideal mate dedicated to the ez guide?

          6. dinothecarpenter | Mar 23, 2005 05:02am | #16

All tools are equal under, nop, in top of the EZ.

But the Makita (at this price) may well be the

first left bladed. Just don't say nothing to Kevin.

As you see in this pictures you can't use left bladed saw with the sliding square.
