Other than this one of course, what other web sites exist for HVAC purchase and repair questions?
Any favorites??

Now be careful HVAC people are the meanest people I found on the web, they are very protected of their craft. HVAC mechanic is really a tame site compare to others. Offer no additional information than needed, they will eat you alive, do not show fear, do not look them in the eyes.
I,m not joking, you see
The best employee you can have but you wouldn't want him as a neighbor " He the shifty type"

I know what you mean.
Their three thoughts seem to be:
1. All brands are the same , the only difference is the installation.
Or a variation, , the brand I happen to sell happens to be the best.
-Do you know any product where all the brands are the same?????
2. Only an HVAC pro can touch the a/c heat pump, etc. Even to change a fan blade or a breaker.
- i bet they work on their own outboard motors, well pumps, tractors, cars, washing machines, riding mowers, etc rather than calling the Maytag or whatever "pro"
they are touchy about it.
3. No prices discussed!!!!
- as if we can not figure out that prices might just vary from place to place and vary with job size.
