Last Saturday, a young man came out from the last roofing company. He hand-fabricated and installed a pair of counter-flashing anchor caps (what else would they be called?). He used this and NP-1 (I think) via a riveted fastner install and we water tested the entire bay window roof.
No leaks.
I think its going to rain today, but since historically <20% chance will that rain strike the front of my home where the bay window is located. I now need to start testing up the brick wall. First test should be the brick window sill for the window above the bay window.
If folks remember correctly, this is the other faulty location in terms of ethical building as the f-ing builder didn’t bother to watch the masons when they failed to install the through-flashing that the mason industry strongly recommends. Sure, the code wasn’t in place in my county when my home was built (missed it by a few months), but a carbon-copy of my home built two years after mine also went without this through flashing and is in code violation.
Hah! Once a bad builder, always a bad builder.
Anyway, the the brick sill tests out fine I will test the window-brick seam. If that tests ok, then I’ll be going up the wall and eventually–and finally–be able to test the cornice (Greek) return that was supposedly repaired last March. Deep breadths.
