Anybody else tried this yet? Got my number last week and I’m mighty impressed so far.

Haven't tried it.
But I heard a report on NPR today about Google Voice, and how they are "interacting" with other phone-service providers.
There are service providers in that industry that specialize in long distance service, and some who specialize in conference-call services. These companies ask customers to call an "800" number, and make theri further calls from within their system. (Much like phone-company credit cards used to work, I guess.)
And in a number of cases, Google will charge yo more for those types of services than some of these other companies.
So, it would seem that you could use your Google Voice account to dial the 800 number, then use the other companies for those other services.
Except that Google routinely blocks those numbers -- ya can't Google-Voice those other service providers.
Now, having said that, I'll also say that the above probably won't matter one whit to most people.
I won't be laughing at the lies when I'm gone,
And I can't question how or when or why when I'm gone;
I can't live proud enough to die when I'm gone,
So I guess I'll have to do it while I'm here. (Phil Ochs)
