Just traded the old 6×10 enclosed for a tandem axle, 7×14 V-hull w/ electric brakes. So far so good…just drove it a couple of miles home to reconfig all the storage.
I like the idea of being able to carry longer lumber, additional stuff if needed, and the aerodynamics of a V-hull, not to mention even if two tires blow I can still limp home. (I’ve replaced two tires on the old one in under a year…nails, roots, etc.)
The trailer brakes work well, but as this is the first I’ve owned with them, it will take some fiddling w/ the controller to get them to stop “growling” at me.
Hopefully, I’ll have some pics that might actually work soon, as my wife just bought (on the company card, of course) a Kodak digital camera w/ memory card for my HP.
PS–the Super Duty still will burn ’em down with this rig ono the back…I love that truck! (Ranchhand bumper’s on order–oh yeah!)

That's awesome. By next week you'll be trading it in for an 8x18, and by November, you'll have enough tools you'll be asking why didn't I get a 35ft gooseneck?
I do have a question. You ordered a bumper. I'm assuming that's the same thing we call a drop in this neck of the woods. Have you made sure the bumper has the ability to carry the trailer weight? Maybe it's a dumb question. I'd just hate to see someone get the new bumper and say oh gee I guess I gotta get a hitch anyway.

The bumper is a front bumper/brushguard....I carry the trailer on a hitch.
Now the dump trailer I'm looking at.....well, my truck's already drilled for a gooseneck mount.Jason Pharez Construction
