My formica kitchen counter are a mess and I want to cover them with one foot squares granite tiles. The counters are two feet wide and the tiles stay in place fine with wood edge banding and no glue. There is no space for grout between the tiles. Two questions. Is there a glue or method to glue granite to formica and what should I use for a thin grout line. I can grove the wood edge band to allow the tile to slightly over hang the formica and give me room for grout, Thanks Jim

I will lightly sand the mica with #60 sand paper and use a comercial type adhesive from the tile store. Or even better I will use 1/4 backer board in top of the mica and use...what the tile store recomend's.
Good luck.

YC is on the right track. Even if the tiles are butted together, isn't there a little bevel on the edges? I would use a non-sanded grout in a color to match the tiles.
