grease for Skilsaw reciprocating saw
Hi all,
I have a Skil #577 reciprocating saw – like a sawzall but more of a jigsaw configuration. What kind of grease should the crank box take?
Thanks,
Scott

Thanks,It is older than what they have manuals for online, so I called. They said the crankcase can be lubed with wheel bearing grease. I used Slick50 wheel bearing grease with Teflon. It is the same greenish color as the stuff that was in it before. I also added some grease between the spring steel thrust plate and the cover plate, to help conduct heat to away from the moving parts.
