I have a customer who wants a security storm door.
Grisham is the only one I can find locally (a special order at Home Depot) that actually uses the word “security”.
Anyone use these? Are they any good?
The door my customer likes is $488. So I’d like to have some more info than the trifold brochure that Home Depot had.
There does not appear to be a web site for the company. That seems to be a pretty big lack at this point in time.

i have had 2 of these doors. made of about7/8 x 1 3/4 steel frame work they are very sturdy.as good or better than any storm door out there as far as ridgid frame goes. they have a impressive deadbolt mechanism. probably the weakest link is the door jamb they slide into, pretty much a standard type storm jamb.
they would keep someone from coming up and jerking the door open easily, bottom line is if they pop the glass the deadbolt is for looks anyway.
if you don't mind paying for them i would recomend them for a good door, but lock your main dead bolt at night. larry
hand me the chainsaw, i need to trim the casing just a hair.
High security storm doors are common in NYC and it's boro's. Maybe someone can steer you the in the right direction.
This is also an unofficial "rez" (bump)...buic
I like his books, never tried his doors
on the other hand you used the phrase:
special order at Home Depot

Yeah, I know. I avoid the big boxes as much as possible. And I especially try to avoid them when it comes to special orders. But sometimes...It is because it is a Home Depot special order that I am trying to find out as much as possible about the door from anyone other than Home Depot. I want to know what I want before I go in there to order it.The only problem I've had with a special order at a big box was when I ordered two tubes of caulk and got six (I got two tubes three times). The only time I did a special order at the local plumbing supply house, they got the wrong toilet (and they didn't call me when it came in, and they didn't call me when the replacement came in....even the big boxes call when the special order is in).

I hear you, just couldn't resist a little yank. <g>Never used Grisham. Only security door I've used is the Larson with the 3 point latch and the bars. Probably calling any storm door secure is a misuse of the word, but the client gets the perception I guess and it seemed solid
