I thought I post some pictures here of a cove ceiling I framed yesterday and the groin I framed today, and some of the rest of the house as it progressed.
As always, all comments welcome 🙂 http://picasaweb.google.com/TimothyUhler/Lot38Muirkirk

Tim,
You are the Cabinetmaker of framers.
Thanx for sharing.
Chuck S
Thanks guys for the comments. I wasn't quite expecting that and it makes me happy. We've had a ball framing this house and it has turned out really clean. Too bad we got a week of rain in July which never happens. Always makes things seem a little less clean.
Great Frame Job! Nice Work!
I love figuring out groining vaults and barrel ceilings.
And I thought I was the only one you ever framed eves and soffits on the deck....just kidding! It's nice there are others!
How do you like the chain saw cutting table? Is it accurate?
Again nice pics!
Howie
Thanks!.
The chainsaw table works great. I think I put pics in the album showing the 12-12 on the 2x12. It was dead on. Just don't force the saw and keep the chain sharp.
I'm thinking nextime of framing in the closed soffits and not just the little returns. What we do now is hang the subfascia lower than the tails, then snap a line on the wall, and nail scrap 2x4 to it. Then just sheathe the soffit.
Tim, That's a great series of shots. Nicely sequenced, easy to follow.Excellent work.Best, Mongo
Where do you find the chainsaw table?
I've done 12" eve's the same way, we even ran the v-rustic up the rake, set windows and sided the wall with 6" beveled cedar.
The wall was about a 20' span and was pretty heavy, but was pretty neat being all completed once we stood it. I usually don't get that detailed but it worked out that one time.
Howie
You can buy the Headcutter through http://www.bigfoottools.com Mine has a slightly larger base.
Hey just saw your profile. I worked up in Washington for about six months. All over the state, we were based at Gig Harbor.
I was building Cell sites and did a job in Port Orchard, played golf too. There's a nice cousre there that I played but the name escapes me right now.
Thanks for the Link!
Howie
Howie,
Did you play McCormack Woods golf course? We've been building in that community off and on for probably 15 years.
How long ago did you work up here? They just opened the new Tacoma Narrows Bridge and man what a breeze driving to and from Tacoma now.
Tim,
McCormack Woods sounds right. Are there parallel side streets to the houses off the main road? I liked that course a lot if it's the same one. Looked like there were some nice homes in there.
I was up there about 2 yrs ago now, man time flies. They were just getting the columns built on the bridge. The company I worked for has an office at the Tacoma Narrows airport down at one of the end hangers. Their still there, it's Eagle Communications.
Here is a link to the community http://www.mccormickwoodsgolf.com/layout9.asp?id=568&page=29626
You are the second person I've talked to on Breaktime who was in this area the same time we were building. Small world :-)
That was the course! Thanks for the Link.
Howie
Tim, very neat...I'm sending your link to my framer. Someone's got it in for me, they're planting stories in the press
Whoever it is I wish they'd cut it out but when they will I can only guess.
They say I shot a man named Gray and took his wife to Italy,
She inherited a million bucks and when she died it came to me.
I can't help it if I'm lucky.
If he has questions, just email me. Thanks for the comments.
Outstanding...I'd love to work on a project like that. Reminds me of those cathedrals I visited in Europe last summer.
Thanks for the slideshow.
You, sir, are an artist.
Thank you

Makes me want to work harder to be a better carpenter. That is awesome work.
Peace,
Casey
Tim - DW and I both just went through the whole slide show twice. Just gorgeous work - and you guys look reallly happy doing it.
Nothing better than doing what you love.
Forrest
Wow, looks like a lotta dang work. But sure is neat. What is the finished surface going to be?

The roof will be a slate tile and I have no idea what the finish is going to be. We'll frame the house next door, then probably side both. I'm looking forward to siding it.
Tim
I know so little about framing but I always enjoy seeing your pictures.
Nice shots and really nice work.
Doug
Realized I didn't have any exterior shots. So the album is updated http://picasaweb.google.com/TimothyUhler/Lot38Muirkirk
Very nice work.
I wish I was younger and had the brains.
Congratulations on the job and the photo album. Thank you.
