The tile grout on our walk-in shower was never sealed. Now we want to seal it, but first we have to clean it–orange rust stains and black mold stains. We have tried many proprietary cleaners that do some of the job, but don’t remove it all. Will anything work or do I have to regrout?

Re-grout...
Rust stains and mold run deep....
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
You will probably never be able to return it to it's 'new' condition. I would use acid.
I'm not going to tell you to use it or how to. You need to do that yourself and decide if it is something you wish to try.
I cannot say that 'regrouting' is the answer either. It is difficult and rarely achieves the desired results.

Try straight bleach applied with a cheap (throwaway) paint brush. Be sure to ventilate, and rinse well. Also be sure it is very dry before sealing.
Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell'em "Certainly, I can!" Then get busy and find out how to do it. T. Roosevelt
You may have to regrout but try a strong solution of TSP before you decide. I have seen it work wonders on old grout. Usually it far exceeds the performance of things like lime-away, formula 409, etc.
I would go with the TSP myself....or the TSP substitute, both can be found in the big box stores in the paint dept."If God didn't want me to wear this Led Zeppelin shirt everyday he wouldn't have made them rock out so hard"
