Hi,
I prefer to apply grout between the tile and the granite countertop. I understand you can buy colored caulk to match the grout and caulk the gap instead. I like to hear what others do.
btw, I do prefer to caulk the gap between the bathtub and the wall tile.
thanks

Color matched grout caulk works well. It'll expand and contract with movement.
Ok, what if you cannot get colored match caulk. Do you grout or caulk with something that comes close?
Grout it, as you would the rest of the backspash, but scratch out half the depth b4 it cures. Then fill that with clear silicone.
But.. I prefer color matched caulk. I just buy a tube as a matter of course when I get the grout.
Is the reason to make it more water resistance or to make it flexible to aviod cracking.
Both,
The intention is to allow the grout color to show thru the silicone.
That joint btw the counter and the backsplash must be caulked in some way and if you don't have access to color matched caulk, this is one way to fake it.

I always make sure the grout color has a matching sanded caulk. Laticrete does this very well.
