Yes, and Andy Engle can explain it to you. I'd suggest you try the "Search" feature but that's a complete waste of time. Joe H
I've got sizing charts out the wazoo, but due to the attachment limits I can't show them to you. Email me with your location (nearest large city) and a dimensioned roof plan with NSEW orientation and I'll size 'em for you.

My powers can only be used for good.
The whole article is availabe on the FHB site.
The answer depends. The most important variable is what kind of livestock you are keeping on the roof. Obviously, cows require considerably more water than rabbits. Then we need to know the frequency and quantity of rainfall you get. The less rainfall, the bigger the gutters need to be so they don't dry up between rains.
Don't forget to slope the gutters away from the downspouts!

Just the occassional squirrel or racoon. While the roof was being built, I did see a few funny lookin varmints sleepin up there. Too big to be possums but they sure liked to play dead. And they had a strange way of saluting their leader when he turned around after rousing them from their naps.

Check out All About Rain Gutters, FHB 125, pp 96-101. Distilling the runoff calculations into something that was remotely digestable was hard enough the first time, so rather than trying to regurgitate it here, I'm really hoping you'll read the article. E-mail me if you have specific qustions.Andy Engel, Forum moderator
