I like the pics showing the shadow of the gyro.
How come he didn't have his own Acme gyrocopter?
the 'yote had a SAM in the bushes off to the right....
Stan was lucky...Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->

Yeah, but if it was an Acme SAM, it would have just backfired on the 'yote.

Have you gotten the 40 hrs mile stone satisfied yet? Remember, I'm more than willing to provide my carpentry contractor as a "passenger test dummy" to spare the family any unexpected unpleasantness for the 1st accompanied flight.
We'll stop by to re-examine the ellipse jig and with permission possibly make a copy.
Years ago we hunted foxes out of a Piper Cub (tandem seating, shooter in the back), now illegal, north farther, Roberts, Piper, Chatsworth area. In a few cases a fox would roll over on it's back, I assume thinking it was fighting off an eagle or hawk. I notice very few foxes and many coyotes now.
Say hi to Leeeeza.
JRuss: I have the 40 hours flown off and have ventured out 125 miles now. I flew to a fly-in yesterday and right after the engine was shut off...I had two peoples poke their heads into the cabin asking all kinds of questions.
The last picture is of the former Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul,Il as I was enroute back home.

GREAT photos! It's nice to get a glimpse of people's lives away from the shop.
If I had to guess, I'd say that first photo was taken either just north of Paxton, near the county line, as you were heading south, OR just north or Rantoul still heading south. Those are the only two spots I can recall where I-57 would bend to the left going southbound in your neighborhood...though I could have mis-judged the position of the sun in that photo in my assumption that your heading is to the south.
The aerial view of Chanute reminds me of the photos I've seen at freefall.com, home of the World Freefall Convention. You might be able to get a few bucks this fall to carry the odd skydiver that wants to jump from a gyro!
Do the Frascas still maintain an active airfield in Urbana? I seem to recall someone telling me they closed to general aviation. Loved seeing their Kittyhawk and the Spitfire in a mock dogfight with guns firing and smoke trailing during their airshows in years gone by.
Blue skies!

Tony: Frasca still has a field...though not near as active. They do not instruct anymore....insurance reasons.
