Went up flying today. The first picture is of my view of the instrument panel while I am flying my gyrocopter. You can make out a lot of information from this picture. The second picture is the same view. The third picture was taken on final approach to the Paxton airports 3000 foot runway. I only use 20 feet of it.
Starting with the trio of instruments to the left of the main GPS navigation unit in the center…..the gauge with the two hands is the exhaust gas temperature gauge for the front and rear cylinders. It is showing about 850 degrees for the front cylinder and 1000 degrees for the rear cylinder. They both should be around 1000 degrees…I am thinking my sensor probe is off a little on the 850 degree one.
The top instrument of the three is the airspeed indicator showing 65 mph…it will go 85. The bottom instrument of the three is the altimeter…I set it to 0 on the ground for local flights..and it is indicating 450 foot above ground altitude..
The rectangular instrument in the center is my GPS navigation unit. It is unbelievable the information that it gives out. Actual ground speed..altitude..bearing to destination…..distance from destination…time to destination….time of arrival at destination..closing speed….it shows the actual position on the moving screen and leaves a flashing trail showing every turn you have made for hours…
The trio of instruments to the right of the GPS starting at the top is the rotor tachometer…it shows 375 rpm…
The next one down is the water temperature gauge showing 175 degrees….the lower of the three instruments is the vertical speed indicator…it is showing a descent of 100 feet per minute..
Oh….that little red yarn on the nose outside the windshield..that is my yaw string. This shows if you are applying correct rudder to keep the aircraft pointing straight with the relative wind….please notice that it is going to the left…This means I need to apply more right rudder….during my fiddling around trying to fly this thing and shoot a picture..my yaw string was going crazy. One simple method to quickly ascertain which rudder pedal to apply to staighten that string out…pretend it is a snake and the front of the string is the snakes head…step on the head of the snake to straighten the aircraft out..in this case right rudder.
At the very bottom is my engine tachometer…it is showing 6390 rpm.

Stan,
Thought you were posting 3 pics, there's only 2. My Father in law flies an ultralight, has his own strip right beside the house, bout 1900 feet long. His buddies fly in all the time. I plan to build a plane in the next 5-6 years, I've always wanted to fly. BTW nice looking aircraft you've got there.

Here is the third picture....I dont know why it didnt post the first time.
