I want to make and install a small cabinet over the commode in the water closet of our Master Bath. Is it possible to scribe both sides of the cabinet face frame to fit both walls and still be able to move the cabinet to install it? Is there some trick to this I’m missing? Please enlighten me as the wife wants this done pretty quick. All rail and stiles are 2″ maple. I’ve pondered this many a night while burning the candles in the shop, but can’t come up with a solution. Please help!

Here are two thoughts:
1. Use a filler strip, by far the easiest way to get the job done.
2. Build and hang the box first. Then make up the face frame. You should be able to fit first one side perfectly to the wall, before you assemble the frame, then the other. Then you can cut your rails to length to fit. Assemble and finish the frame. If you back cut the scribe slightly on one side it will assist when you swing the face into position on the box. A few biscuits, a little glue and your frame is permanently stuck to the box.
*I do Ralph's second suggestion. Build and hang box, then add the face frame, then add the doors. I've done the face frame two ways: 1) built it as a whole, then installed it, and 2) installed it piece-by-piece...scribed stiles first, then same-length rails wedged tight. Slightly back-beveling the stiles before scribing is excellent advice. Less material to waste away when scribing.
*Duhhhh! Thanks for the help. I never thought of doing the rails last! Now I see how it works. If you'll excuse me, I'll be in the corner of the woodshop, wearing the pointed hat! Thanks again,Don
*My cabinet maker leaves one stile loose. We take out the pocket screws holding the loose stile on and remove it , set the cabinet in place scribe the secured stile (measuring total width and determining where to scribe to maintain equal stiles). Install the cabinet and scribe the loose stile to fit.steve
