The most common way to make your own parging mix is to use either Type S mortar for block or Type N for brick and add a concrete bonding additive.

But you all knew that. I detailed it extensively in my blog.
29.99 per sq.
YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS $30 PER SQ FT = $36,000 FOR 1200 SQ FT
GOD BLESS YOU IF YOU CAN DO THAT, BILL
hardie per sq. around here ,rural western washington is $2 per sq. don't subtract for windows etc. any deviations from norm (whatever that means) charge accordingly based on your best guesstimate.
$1.295
Reasonable from the payers perspective or the payees perspective?
What the Market will bear in your local area from the perspective of the payee.
What the market is determining in your area for the quality of work from the perspective of the payer.
You have to provide more details. Does that include glue and screws? What color siding will be used. What texture? Is it pre-flashed? Are you working off scaffolding or from ladders. All this makes a big difference.
You should probably go with piffin screws, get it done alot faster and I think there's a basic estimating table on the package.

How many doors and windows do you have to cut around. Also, are there any curves or arches, anything like that?--------------------------------------------------------

You say you have experiance putting up hardie then you should be able to estimate how long its going to take, add in fasteners, flashing, blades, and whatever.
Divide this # by how many square feet you have and viola $#.## per square foot.
Ive done miles and miles of hardi and i could not tell you off cuff how much per square foot i would charge. I bid by the job, per job conditions, and if i want /need the work.
If somebody wants a per square ft price then i just do the division.
Bill,
Like roofing, siding labor and materials are quoted per hundred square feet, called "a square". You can separate the labor and materials costs but they're still refered to as "a square".
That may be part of the reason that you've been taking so much flak, although any newbie is considered fair game here.
Sorry that I don't have any solid figures for you. Why don't you call a couple of siding contractors in your area and ask them the per sqft question, as if you were a homeowner? That will probably give you more useful information about local prices.
New construction Syracuse 110-125/sq.
Welcome to BT Mack, see you have already gotten a hazing!
FWIW, son came into some big $$ so had his house resided (had the bad LP stuff from 1994) vs DIY. About $23K for a 4500 sq ft 2 story house, have not broken it down.
DIY cost would have been about $1.29 per sq ft including all materials.
