I want to lay a prefinished hardwood floor in a cottage that is located in southern Ontario and the cottage is not winterized. The current floor covering is resilient tile and is in very good condition. I am wondering what precautions I need to take in order to lay this floor. The outdoor temperature will be hovering around 10 celcius or 50 farenheit. The cottage has a fireplace in case this makes a difference, otherwise there is no other heat source.

Rob, most of the manufacturers have websites, email addresses for help, and 1-800 numbers. The first thing I'd do would be to check with the manufacturer to find out if they'd recommend/warrantee such an installation.
