Need to fill a bunch of small (1/2″ or so) knots in a new white oak floor. Going for the rustic look. I know epoxy is used for filling, but does anyone know of other materials to use that are available in black? Also, is graphite the colorant for black if epoxy is used?

How about sawdust mixed with epoxy?
Walnut Famowood works pretty well:http://eclecticproducts.com/famowood.htmhttp://www.tvwsolar.com
We'll have a kid
Or maybe we'll rent one
He's got to be straight
We don't want a bent one
He'll drink his baby brew

Someday he may be president

Durham's Rock Hard putty. It can be pigmented or dyed, I believe.
Thaks for the replies - I did come across the Famowood, it's pretty much the material I had in mind, but would like it in black. Hadn't thought about Durham's, but will look into that. The more I think about it, the less I want to use epoxy, just because the amount of material needed vs. cost would be ridiculous.
Anyone ever used Timbermate?

Lamp Black or RIT fabric dye powder, NOT graphite.
