I’d like to add a 1/4″ layer of ply to the existing 19/32″ ply subfloor, both to get a smoother base (in conjunction with leveling compound) and to correct an elevation mismatch. I’d also like to do this in a way to add structural rigidity, since the manufacturer (Teragren) recommends a 3/4″ subfloor. Is there a particular technique (adhesive/fasteners/etc.) that will improve stiffness better than others? I could guess, but I was thinking this has already been figured out by someone.
