I just had a woman ask me to do her hardwood floors and I told her that I don’t really do wood floors. She said she wanted ME to do them so I agreed. This is solid wood t and g red oak that was removed from an old school house built 50 years ago. The nails have been removed I just have to install them after the ceramic tile has been removed (not by me..no thank you). About 400 feet of area. The floor is concrete slab. I need advice. I have a few questions, (as always). I already told her to bring it inside to acclamate to the climate. Is there somthing that I should know since this has already been put down. Should freshen each butt end by cutting it. Should I run each peice through my thickness planer to remove the years of varnish. Should I glue it down. What is your preference of glue. What should I charge? Surely it is more than the standard. What is the standard?
thanks for any help
