Hardwood flooring over radiant only 1/2.

Would like to install Walnut floors over a 3/4 T&G subfloor and also intstall a radiant heating system under the decking. The catch is the radiant would only be in about half of the area, the kitchen and dining area have open joists so easy access, the adjoining entry and family room does not. Would having radiant heat in one section cause differing expansion and contraction issues in the non-radiant section?

jeffwoodwork,
Wood isn't metal. metal reacts to temp changes while wood reacts to moisture.. does that answer your question?
No it doesn't sorry if I was confusing but I see no mention of any metal being used.
Jeffwoodwork,
I'm sorry, I tend to over explain things so I tried to be brief..
As I said, wood isn't metal.. metal expands and contracts based on tempurature while wood isn't affected.. (well isn't affected to any degree that will affect the the flooring)
Wood does react to moisture changes so if there is moisture coming up from below the area exposed to added moisture will swell while the part protected from moisture won't..
Hope that answers you, glad to explain further if you'd like :-)
Ok I see where you were going, so if I can control the moisture or humidity I should be fine. thanks
wood DOES react to heat, also moisture use quartersawn wood over radiant heat to avoid it cupping like plainsawn does quartersawn orients the grain of the flooring vertically so heat doesn't cause cupping plainsawn will give u crescent shaped grain pattern on the butt end of the boards, and cupping occurs with the grain beeen in a couple houses where it was so bad after 1 heat season the floor had to go the hvac guy was good in both, heat not excessive in the floor loops wood is just not that tolerant of heat from below use a humidifier in the winter to avoid shrinkage and opening of seams bit cheaper alternative is rift and quarter sawn which gives a mix of quartersawn wood and rift sawn, which produces a grain pattern on a slight angle, but not crescent shaped like plainsawn
as far as mixed heating, some radiant, some baseboard or hot air, regular consistent use of humidifier should control movement from occurring
