I have to build a Victorian Home that calls for radiant heat downstairs and wood floors throughout. I’m worried about the floor cracking even with humidifiers installed and acclimating the wood inside prior to install. Anybody ever done it? How did it go? Any reccomendations? Thanks- Steve

Hardwood over RFH is done all the time.
Simply figure the hardwood in when designing the RFH so that you have an even, gentle heat. If you're still nervous about the numbers, go with an engineered (ply structure) wood strip flooring. Not a plastic laminate, but an engineered flooring made from real wood.
You won't need the humidifier with RFH.
There's a pretty good article over in the JLC database, you may want to check it out.
Thanks for the help! I appreciate the reply-
