What would be the best hardwood floor product installed directly over concrete? Preferably finish on site as the customer wants some mixed species and border around the perimeter of the field. The proposed project is in a new highrise on the 6th floor. 1500 sq. ft. Unit has already been trimmed out so raising the floor with sleepers and ply are out of the question. All info is appreciated.

You may have to consider a floating floor over a sound matt for this job. This has the earmarks of a condo and most condo assoc. have bylaws or rules pertaining to wood floors.
Inlays can easily be installed into floating floors and the choice of wood species is limitless.

Short form summary:
Lay 3/4 ply over the concrete, fasten. With an adaptor shoe fitted*,
use a standard flooring nailer.
Apply the wood of choice.
Finish.
