Hardwoodfloors refinishing & upkeep

We live in a house built in 1940. It has
lovely hardood floors that will someday
need refinishing. Our den seems to have
never been finished. Is it possible to
get the den refinished to match the
finish in the rest of the house? Also we
suffer from “Inherited Dog Syndrome”.
Too much dog hair and a vacumn to paltry
to deal with it. Any suggestions for
