I will be installing a hardwood floor in my living room/kitchen next weekend (approx. 300 sq.ft.), and I have a question that I am hoping that I can get some guidance on:
In preparing the subfloor, I plan on using a floor sander to remove existing tile mortar. I am guessing that a coarse sand paper will be able to remove it. Is the preferred method?
Thanks for any help you can give me!

get a sander that is made for floors, one of the big drum sanders, and use a 36 grit
Thanks for the tip!
I wouldn't want to be one of those guys that rents the machine after you're done but many including myself use rentals for floor prep, but not for thinset removal. Imagine the enormous amount of dust that will be created. I'd have to prefer an electric jackhammer with a wide blade.
