Has anyone used self leveling foor patch
I need to make a floor a straight plane, but choose to not make it level , as its adjoining another room. Can I mix it to hold it self from spreading ? Its a tile application that also includes another room.

You can mix the compound as thick as you want. The idea is when mixed thin it is "self leveling". Mixing it thick, it will just be a patching compound. You'll need to work fast or mix small batches, cause when the stuff starts to set it goes FAST!!!!
Start with a small area cause its a bitch to remove if you screw it up.
