Has any of you guys dealt with “Built Direct” before? Here is the link to their website: http://www.builddirect.com/
I am looking for some Ipe decking that I need in the near future and the price seems ok. Any input is appreciated.

I've had no personal experience with the company but I have seen threads on here regarding the co.
Try to do a search on Builddirect and see what you come up with. I'd do the search for ya but I must be the dumbest person on this place, I can never find a damn thing with it!

'Same here Doug: The search bar comes up with anything other than what I am looking for.Martin

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
Martin,
I've ordered stone tile (container of slate, pallets of quartzite) from them before.
No complaints, I'd do it again.

I ordered a pallet of Cedar shingles from them last year. Good product, good price, decent shipping time. I would order from them again.

No way can you beat their prices...but you need to buy full pallets is the only thing. I'd definatly use them nexttime I need quantity of anything...unless you're willing to try and sell off what you have left over.

A friend of mine has bought a houseful of maple flooring and slate tile from them, and said he would use them again.
I just used Build Direct to buy my pre-finished hardwood flooring, my only complaint would be the shipping time. I placed the order in late December and didn't receive my goods until late February. One box came pretty beat up, I notified Build Direct and they had a replacement box to me within 10 days. Another good thing is that the boxes of wood flooring exactly matches the sample piece my wife and I used to select the color we wanted. I've also gone through a few of the boxes and the quality of the goods look great all the way through. They are sitting in the house now getting acclimated and I'm planning to install in about 2 weeks. I'd use them again.
Q fer U:How are the piece lengths? Too many shorts, or do the contents look good? Thanks, Mongo
Out of my 45 boxes I've only opened 2. In both boxes though about half the boards are around two and half or three feet long and the other half are about a foot to a foot and a half long. The grain and color of each board looks really good.
Appreciate the follow-up.
I'm late to the thread. I used them 2 years ago. 2 pallets 18" travertine. orderd on a monday, delivered the next thursday, a little quicker than expected. quality was great, service was great, recomended them to a friend, he's getting three pallets in a couple of weeks.
If you need to order their sample pack, my was very representative of the product recieved.
Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences that you had with Built Direct with me. I am interested in their Ipe decking. So far I have not found a local Ipe decking supplier in the Vancouver, BC, Canada area. After taxes, duty and shipping Built Direct charges $3.19/lineal foot for 1"x6" pre grooved Ipe.Martin
Horrible experience with BuildDirect
BuildDirect sold me flooring which delaminated and cracked which was determined in a written report by a certified wood flooring insepector to be a manufacturing responsibility. I am now in the process of obtaining bids to rip it up and start over; it is that bad. BuildDirect refuses to do anything more than sell me other wood at a discount. Never never never deal with this company, they do not support their product now that it has failed. They are located in Canada making it difficult to sue them.
