I had a section of gutter come loose recently, and as you can see by the picture, it wasn’t in a friendly location, being 19 ft above my driveway, and 2 ft off both the side and back of the house. There wasn’t enough room to set up one of those genie hydraulic lifts, so I ended up renting the 15 ft high scaffold package from the local HD. The rate was the same for a day or for a week, $63. It took me about an hour and a half to set it up as shown, by myself, using a rope to pull the sections up to where they were needed. Took less than a half hour to disassemble. As a side note, I used the McFeeleys 7″ AL gutter screws to replace the nails which had pulled out. I doubt I’ll ever had to repair the gutter again.
Anyway, thought I’d throw this out as a good experience to anyone who might be considering scaffold for a project in the near future.

Agreed!
I used one for a month while laying up the brick on my chimney.

I rented 15 ft to repair some chimney siding, and it worked well. Only problem was that I have a camper shell on my PU and the sections are 5 ft, so getting them loaded was a chore. Removing the large pins that splice the pieces together (not a good description) helped a lot...they are held in place with old fashioned cotter pins, and the kid from HD had no clue how to pull them out...said he didn't know what a cotter pin was.
The Lowes around here are starting to get intio the rental business, but they are leasing space to an outfit called (dang it, memory fault) Rent America or something, as opposed to an in-house division like HD. So far only 2 of the 5 Lowes and 2 of the 10 HD have rentals.
