Health Insurance?
Does anyone have any ideas on how to supply health insurance to there employees without breaking the bank? I’ve tried several different carriers in southeastern michigan, but so far there is no way I can afford the cost. I would appreciate any respopnses.

You might want to look at local chambers of commerce and builders groups to see if they offer any group plans.
But you also want to look at see what the insurance is far. In my mine a person should be able to pay for there own basic and that medical insurance should be only for major expenses. If you look it that way and look for high deductible policies ($2500-5000) you will find that the insurance is alot cheaper.
Also you might want to look at MSA's, medical savings account. These require a special high deductable policy that is matched with an savings account. Money that is put into the saving account is tax deductable. Money can be taken out of the savings account, tax free, to pay for medical expenses and that includes things like dental and glasses. Any money not spend is accumunated and at age 65 can be rolled over into and IRA.
Because of different groups in congress the MSA's ended up with a lot of restrictions and thus it has not become common and is now well know. Most health insurance agents don't know about it.
Fortis and Golden Rule are two companies that write MSA polices.

I think that you are limited to 50 employees or be self-employeed to have an msa.
Do a google on medical savings accounts and you will find more information.
and this subject has been broached at different times in the past here on Breaktime. There is a search feature you can type in the subject and it will bring up the old threads with the subject word(s) used in the posts. Perhaps some of those old posts will be helpful.
