heat pump contactor choice

I have a 20 year old 3 1/2 ton heat pump.
It has the original contactor that starts the compressor and all the fans. A reative had a contactor fail recently at a bad time.
i am planning on replacing the contactor , and as the HP draws 31 amps I figure I need a 40 amp contactor.

the present contactor is “one pole”, that is for the two line inputs one is connected all the time: the contactor closes only one side.
I do not see 40 amp one pole breakers around like in grainger.

seems a 2 pole one would work with a jumper on one side??????
