Just letting everyone know I am still breathing! I am busier than all get out…but still am finding time to whittle on my helicopter kit that recently arrived.
This will be over a year long build mainly due to the fact that the turbine engine wont arrive till spring of 2009.
Anyway…the curved stairways keeps things turning…even my rotor.
That first picture is stupid me pretending I am holding my cyclic….and no smart remarks….ha..
Thelast one is the turbine I will be installing.

Nice looking fuselage. I hadn't heard that anyone was offering a turbine design. Whose kit is it?
Are you working on the rating yet? If so, how's that going?

PPSEL
Hudson: It a Helicycle ....factory is Eagle R & D Inc. out of Nampa, Idaho.
I have a PPSEL right now...and am going for my helicopter rating in an R22 Robinson.
This will easily cruise at 100 mph...and will actually cruise at full throttle at 110 mph all day if you wanted to hold forward cyclic.
Stan
I checked Eagle's web site. I'm impressed, though yet not ready to climb in anything with a rotary wing. Too many moving parts for me. <G>
Cool!
So how much higher/faster/farther can the new heli fly, over the gyro?
You going to fly into Doud's Fest this summer?
And when will the heli be pushing those pesky stairs out of your shop?
Shep: It will go to 11000 feet....
I wont be flying until 2009 with it.
So there really is such a thing as a Magic Carpet ride or is it blanket ride, looking good keep the pictures coming.
In the first pic, is that the fuel tank?

Are you grounded until the Heli is done? I thought I read where you said that you would sell or have sold your other flying machine.
Doug
Thanks for the update - I was wondering how it was going. Looked at the web site; that's a sweet machine. I was surprised to see it's a single seater. I sensed from your postings that you really enjoyed giving friends & family rides. What prompted you to go to single-seater?
I also did note the bold print - 220# max for the pilot. One way to stay honest, isn't it :-)
I did love giving rides to people...but the liability exposure was just a problem. My insurance was going through the roof for that second seat. My wife never went up in my last one..so the dream of us flying around just wasnt going to materialize. My daughter doesnt like to fly...and my son...he will ride with me when I rent an R22.
Stan
Sounds like my wife & snorkeling :-)
I wondered if the insurance was a factor - bleep'n lawyers!
Made a little more progress this weekend. I have two stairways getting out of the shop the next few days. I will be immediately starting on two more stairs to fill their void. So...my shop is choked!

Paris, IL? Probably 1.5hrs south of Stan.
You have/had kin in the Paris area? When I was very young, we lived briefly south of Paris.

Clean shaven, hair combed, collar buttoned, tie straight. Forget about the airplane, how'd you find your way to BT?
I have a very avid woodworking hobby and have been subscribing to FWW for quite a few years. I used to subscribe to FHB but let my subscription lapse.
This past fall I started to build our custom/dream home in northern Wisconsin so I ended up here lurking in the background.I always thought having my own little personal helicopter would be way cool, but usually at the end of the week on the road the last thing I want to see is another airplane....hence the woodworking hobby.
jurassic... if u been lurking , then you know that your pics are too big for pleasuable viewing
and it looks like you have some nice pics
download IrfanView or some other software and resize your pics to about 100 kb

by the looks of the pics they were probably taken in late July for Wisconsin
Pretty much what I expected, we're on the opposite ends of aviation and building. Some of us fly to relax, others work with wood. Now that I'm mostly retired, I get to relax doing both.
I can appreciate why you'd rather just plunk it down in a comfortable car at the end of long week, rather than wind back up for another flight, particularly in an experimental aircraft. I owned a Starduster One for five years, someone else's homebuilt biplane. Any time I'd been away from it for more than a few days I got a case of the heebie jeebies when I opened the hangar doors.
can you name one lawyer who has ever given a big award (or any award) in a personal injury case? not one...ever.
I notice small helos on eBay from time to time.
