   Whichever one fits the task at hand. And bear in mind that, for specific tasks, you may have to construct some sort of fixture to hold the jig in place on the workpiece.

   IMHO, the Dowl-It Jig, model #1000, is among the simpliest and most accurate doweling jigs to use and has been proven by its many decades of use.
