Help me ID an old insulation
Please help me identify what type of insulation I have behind plaster walls in a 1950s era brick ranch. It has rock lath with plaster skim coat.
I am lucky enough to have the original blue prints and the wall section info says….#16 Infra insulation.
The basement walls have #4 junior Infra insulation.
The attic, which has additional fiberglass on top, has foil bags.
All I am trying to determine without cutting into the walls is if this Infra stuff is a variation of the foil bags used in the attic.
All the outlet and switch boxes are plastered in so I can’t take a peek.
Thanks,
Alan

what part of the country are you from ?
Mike Smith Rhode Island : Design / Build / Repair / Restore
Not familiar with that name but lots of homes back then were done with some nasty rock wool in foil about 1-1/2" thick.
