Hey if this message appears twice, ignore one of them. It has been a while since I visited the site.
Has anyone used the Robovector/Robolaser? My Lowe’s is closing the combo kit out for 195.00. The kit is regularly about 400.00. I would really appreciate any opinions or feedback on these tools. I have been looking at getting a laser for a while and this might be a pretty good deal. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Price is OK, but normal retail is way out of wack, check out somebody like Amazon/Tool Crib to compare what is in value pack..... to what you're being offered. The whole laser levels industry cut prices around 1/1 by 30-50% and stepped up on accuracy/quality/range specs.
If you do any site preparation and need accuracy in a inch or so. My new GPS is as good as anything I've had in long time, It makes me wonder what the next generation of GPS's will do?
*I have both. In some ways, I think they are a bargain, but in others I think they are kind of like toys. Nonetheless, I have built complicated houses with them so they do work.robolaser complaints: -they go through batteries like crazy.-the dot is really hard to pick up in bright outdoors.-at times, the high speed rotation shuts off the laser (can be very frustrating)-if used for more than 20 minutes or so in direct sunlight on a warm day, the laser shuts down.the vector has less trouble, but for my usage, it always seems to be pointing in a direction that doesn't have a beam for which way I want to square up; you have to outthink it sometimes. It is surprisingly accurate but if you can use a tape and do diagonals, I think that's just as good. I bought it because the last house had no diagonals to reference, and with 29 corners I needed to end up square and in the same place. It worked quite well. You can't beat the price but if you are a serious builder, I'd step up to a "real" laser...this is advice I tried to get before I bought it for about 3 times what you're paying but nobody said this stuff.I'd sell you mine but don't feel like losing that much money that fast.MD
*Thanks for your reply Anderson, The 400.00 figure i quoted came from Tool crib. The Low's price was about 50.00 off that. C
*Thanks Mad Dog for the info. Most of the stuff I do is smaller interior stuff. I have a bathroom and kitchen remodels coming up. I have been wanting the Robovector for awhile. I figured why not get the combo at that price. Lowe's has seven of them in stock. I think I will let them sit on them a little longer and see if the price comes down any more. Thanks,C
*C., This is what will happen. You will decide to get one after all. It might be today, tomorrow or Monday. It doesn't matter. You will go down to Lowe's and find an empty shelf space for Robovectors. You will ask around and the helpful clerk will inform you that the last one was sold ten minutes ago. On the other hand, if you do get one, next year they will come out with a new model that is better, faster, cheaper and more accurate for $100. Your choice, -Peter
