Hey guys:
Quick question … I need to decide between two products for bathtub reglazing. One of them is epoxy process (which takes three days to cure) and the other is an a liquid enamel process (which takes one day to cure). Does anyone know the pros and cons of each/either.
thanks for your help

Don't know about the enamel process, but we had an old clawfoot tub refinished with the epoxy process several years back. Done right, it really looks great, (cleaned, etched, then painted)but you can't use abrasive cleaners on it. Not cheap, but the guy who did it left a flawless finish on the tub.
We've used Lowe's enamel product with a cup gun, and gotten good results. Epoxy should set up pretty quickly if mixed properly, but takes a few days to "cure" to final hardness. Prep well, fiberglass and bondo if needed, wet sand with 220, mask well, spray carefully (work the wet edge and keep it moving to avoid runs), and minimize breathing the stuff (respirator). Clean the gun with acetone right away.
